Lauren Sturla is a project manager, designer and illustrator living in Chicago, IL. Lauren graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Graphic Communications and completed the Graphic Design certificate program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Lauren uses hand-drawn elements polished digitally to create strategic, but empathetic design solutions across a variety of applications, both printed and digital. Her style is detailed but clean and utilizes refined but impactful color palettes. She incorporates hand-illustration, digitally crafted graphics, pattern design and layout to achieve thoughtful and meaningful composition.
Lauren currently manages design and execution of print and digital deliverables for a large design firm in Chicago and is available for freelance design and illustration.
Lauren is originally from Lancaster, PA, lived in Atlanta, GA and has found her love for whoopie pies, Martin’s potato rolls and turkey hoagies could, in fact, be expanded to include fried chicken, homemade biscuits, cheesy-gouda grits, tangy BBQ, and deep dish pizza. (Who knew!)
When not designing, drawing or learning new techniques, Lauren enjoys drinking good coffee, dining at new restaurants (surprise), reading, and, most of all, adventuring with her daughter and dog Rigby.
You can follow Lauren on tumblr to see her sketches and works-in-progress, on Behance to see current completed projects, or on instagram for photos of #theRigbydog in action... and a hefty helping of food porn.
Any freelance opportunities (as well as questions, recipes, or photos of your dog) can be shared on the contact page.
